This is easily my favorite written worship spread that I’ve made. I had no idea at the beginning of this project how much of an impact it would have on me. This is by far the most influential project and I am thankful that this is ongoing and that God continues to pursue my heart through it.
Both of these pages are from sermons at church. For the one on the left had side, I included lots of doodles because I really wanted to capture the idea that while we are all separate, together we make up the big picture. It says, “When it comes to being Christians we are one. Jesus has destroyed 1.) ethic and racial barriers; 2.) social and economic barriers; 3.) sexual and gender barriers.” YES. YES. YES.
On the right side, I used the distress inks to blend orange and pink for the background. We talked at church about the role of the Holy Spirit and I always think that lists are a perfect addition to my margins. I really like my pages to include notes because learning is so important to my walk with Jesus. It says:
The Role of the Holy Spirit:
- conversion – makes us turn to God (John 16:8-11)
- regeneration – transformation and gift of spiritual energy (John 3:5-6)
- lives in the believer – the same power that raised Jesus lives in me. (Romans 8:11)
- empowers us (Acts 1:8)
- bestows gifts to believers (1 Corinthians 12:7)
I love that a simple background does the trick, yet I have something that is so incredibly meaningful to me. One thing that I’ve started making a priority since I made this page, was to add the date stamp to it so I would be able to see exactly when each page was put together.
