At the beginning of this year, I set a goal to read 12 books in 12 months. I do love to read, but compared to my creative hobbies, it often takes a spot on the back burner when things get busy. I think the main motive behind reading for me (especially lately) is to learn something, which is why if you check out my recent reads, you’ll find that a majority of them would fall into the “self-help” or Christian non-fiction categories. For the year, I’ve finished nine which is perfect timing since September is the ninth month. Here’s my current list of have read, current reading, and want to read!
Read: Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis This book was definitely added to my all time favorites list. I gave it a 5/5 stars on Goodreads, which is very rare and up there with Gone with the Wind status. While being a pretty easy read, this was one of those that I wanted to savor so I made myself stretch it out as long as I could. I read the seven parts in seven weeks.
Currently Reading: The Five Levels of Leadership: Proven Steps to Maximize Your Potential by John C. Maxwell I received this book from my boss at work and we are in the process of going through it together. So far, I love the organization of the book and look forward to lots of underlining, highlighting, and notes!
Want to Read: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving I’ve had multiple people recommend this book to me and I’ve already bought the paperback version, so it’s next up on my to-read list!
